Ashley S. Strange

About the Artist

Ashley Strange is an interdisciplinary artist who takes much of their inspiration from artists surrounding them. Ashley has received over $20k in art grants through artistic career and their art has been showcased at events all around the country. In 2021, Ashley began welding to expand the multitude of skills they use in their art with the intention of creating large-scale public art. Ashley is also a disabled veteran of the United States Army.Ashley's current vision/mission is to help other artists break down the barriers & limitation to their creative process. They believe in the inclusivity of all genders with a distinct focus on fostering a safe and welcoming environment for those who identify as women to practice collaborative design and new tool skills. They have bought a small building in Detroit with the goal of creating an intentional community of artists focused on sustainable living and art education for the women and people of nontraditional genders.
